SNOMG!!

This week is a trifecta of major holidays in the Taylor family.  It is my dad's 60th bday, my parents 32nd(?) wedding anniversary, and of course Thanksgiving.  So to celebrate, we got a house in Sunriver for the week.  Today my dad, Gill, and I headed east (Caitlin and Mom are coming tomorrow with Ellen arriving tomorrow or Wednesday).  Now this family vacation, the first in many years, just happens to coincide with some crazy weather up in these parts.  A serious cold snap and even some snow much earlier in the year than is typical.  Turns out they meant A LOT of snow.  We took US 26 up over Mt. Hood and it was pretty crazy.  Here's a video to give you an idea:

It was beautiful, but also SLOW.  It took us 6 hours to get to Sunriver, and we only stopped voluntarily once.  Crazy.  The last hour or so was done in the dark and visibility was less than optimum, as we narrate:

We're here now and that's nice.  I'm looking out at the back porch now staring at about 15" of snow.  The snowfall is supposed be letting up tomorrow morning but still be COLD.  Like, lows in the single digits cold.  Now we just have to get everyone else here...
